Youth Ballet Company to present "Rites of Spring"

Bringing their 12th year of original dance concerts to The Egg stage in Albany, at 7:00 PM. on May 10th The Youth Ballet Company presents “ Rites of Spring”. With music from the hit movie and Broadway musical “Chicago” and original choreography by the company’s Artistic Director Beth Bench Hartle and guest choreographer Colleen Dooley. Twenty three talented and versatile local dancers do it all. Classical and Neo Classical Ballet, Jazz, and Modern Dance to the music of Chopin, Brahms, Vivaldi, Phillip Glass, the Celtic influenced, Alasdair Fraser, Paul Machlis, Capercaillie, Simon Wynberg, and Saratoga’s own Jeffery Halstead.

Some of the Highlights will be “Chicago Suite” featuring All that Jazz, Cell Block Tango and Roxie, “Spiritual Flight” a deeply moving Neo Classical ballet danced to Saratoga’s Jeffery Halstead’s inspirational piano music, the celtic influenced “It started on a Monday” and “Where is the Peace” a modern dance based on the beauty of classical Greek statues and danced to the music of Frederick Chopin.

The Youth Ballet Company and Dance Eclectic has enriched the lives of the children and extended families of Southern Saratoga County for more than a decade. A core commitment to educating dancers through involvement with original choreography and music in conjunction with solid training in classical ballet and modern dance principles has propelled Youth Ballet Company to impressive heights after one decade of service to our region.
