Workshops

Workshops can be designed in cooperation with teachers to offer their school a program that is unique for students. These classes will introduce students to the creative process of dance enabling them to have a broader understanding behind works of art that they may one day experience as a performer or observer.

"Nutcracker" workshops have students investigate culture in various countries. Students will then take that information and form it into an interpretation of their own through movement.

"Peter and the Wolf" will analyze the connection of instrumentation and character development. Students will then be asked to create an original idea that encompasses this relationship.

During workshops, students will be introduced to the elements of space, time and energy. They will use these tools to delve into their own creation. Beth Bench-Hartle encourages students to shape thoughts into movement by guiding them with her expansive knowledge of dance, realizing that these students may someday be great artists of our future.
