Open Space, Trails and Riverfront Advisory Committee

The Town of Clifton Park Town Board appoints committee members for
terms of service. The committee function as an advisory
committee providing its recommendations to the town board.

Background
The Town of Clifton Park Town Board appointed the inaugural Open
Space, Trails and Riverfront Subcommittee in January 2006, and
selected Co-Chairs David J. Miller and Jim Romano, for leadership of
the advisory subcommittee. Miller and Romano had previously
led the Open Space Plan Advisory Committee through the open space
planning process in 2001 through 2003, and the open space plan
implementation committee from 2003 through 2005.
This new Open Space, Trails and Riverfront Committee was formed by
the Town Board to bring together the former Open Space
Implementation Committee, the Trails Committee and a Riverfront
Study Committee to work towards common, complementary and mutual
goals and objectives. The timing of the formation of this new
advisory committee also coincided with the appointment of the town's
first Open Space Coordinator, Jennifer Viggiani, AICP, who started
in the position on Dec. 28, 2005.

Staff to the Committee
Jennifer Viggiani, AICP, Open Space Coordinator is the primary staff
person to work with the committee. Additional staff members
play key roles in supporting the committee, including but not
limited to: John Scavo, Jr., Director of Planning; Myla Kramer,
Director of Park, Recreations and Community Affairs; Barbara McHugh,
Director of Community Development; and Tom McCarthy, Town Attorney.
