  • Full and Half Day Camp
    Epi Pen Program

The Town of Clifton Park Day Camp Program has once again applied for a New York State Department of Health permit to administer Epi Pens at all full day and half day camp sites. Several children with allergies have been able to attend camp thanks to the Epi Pen program. Through the American Red Cross, we have staff trained at each site, with supervision by our Health Director. Information on this program will be available at Town Hall, our website and in the Parent Handbook. Please call 371-6667 with questions.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Q. What do I need to register for half day camp?
    A.
Pre-purchased tickets, a completed registration form with camp location and a copy of your child's immunization record are necessary to participate in the Half Day Camp. The camp location can not be changed after registration is completed. At the beginning of the season, the minimum number of tickets that can be purchased is 5 for $25 ($5 per ticket) per camper. The tickets are non-refundable, so please buy them in quantities that reflect your best estimate of how often your child will be attending camp. Each time your child attends the Half Day Camp Program, one ticket will be collected. Tickets can be purchased by mail or at Town Hall throughout the summer. Tickets must be purchased by the first day your child attends the program. The registration forms may be obtained at Town Hall or online and must be returned at least 5 days before attending camp.

    Q. What do I need to register for full day camp?
    A
. A completed registration form, including Part II (which has weeks attending and fees) and a copy of your child's immunization form must be submitted together in order to participate in the Full Day Camp. This is an eight-week camp with a minimum four weeks participation required. Payment for four weeks is due at the time of registration, of which $50 is non-refundable. The remainder is due by June 10, 2011. Full Day campers must have registrations submitted and paid for two weeks before camp starts. Registration for additional weeks must be added and paid for by July 8th. We are unable to add on additional weeks after this date. This camp has limited openings and registration forms may be obtained at Town Hall or online.

    Q. Who works at the camps?
    A. Each site includes a Site Director, Art and Athletic Specialists and Counselors carefully chosen to work with children. The middle school camp has two Athletic Specialists and no Art Specialist.

    Q. What kind of training do the staff have?
    A. All staff are certified in American Red Cross First Aid and CPR. At least three staff at each site are also trained in advanced first aid and CPR along with Epi-pen injection training.

    Q. Are the full and half day camps licensed and inspected by the New York State Department of Health?
    A. Yes! We receive our permit prior to the start of camp and an inspector from the NYS Department of Health inspects all six of our camps during the summer.

Do I need to pay for fields trips?
    A.
Field trips are additional for the half day camps and camp t-shirts are required for all field trips. Field trip sign-ups begin on June 20 and t-shirts are purchased at the Town Hall. You must sign up in advance for field trips. Trips close out when full or five days before the trip. Field trips and t-shirts are included with the full day camp registration fee.

    Q. Can I pay at the camp site?
    A. No. Full Day campers must have registrations submitted and paid for two weeks before camp starts. Half Day fun passes can only be purchased at Town Hall. No payment will be accepted at any camp site.

    Q. When will a camp activity schedule be available?
    A.
The Calendar of Daily Events for each site will be available by June 13th. Copies will be available both in the Parks & Recreation office and on our website at www.cliftonpark.org.

    Q. Who do I contact if I have more questions?
    A. You can call Parks & Rec at 371-6667 and speak to any staff person. Diana Fraser is the Summer Recreation Director and will also be available to assist you.

We hope to see you this summer!
