In the Heat of Summer

Can you believe we are already half-way through summer?  Camps are busy, the pools are helping folks stay cool and July 4th was outstanding.  What are you doing this summer?  Have you been attending our outdoor concert series at Clifton Common?  Check out the schedule for the remainder of the season!

 

Performing Arts at the Common

Sunday Evenings

Concerts at 7:00 p.m.

July 24-27 - “State Fair” will take you back to Iowa in 1946 where it will be a Grand Night for Singing. Summer musical performed by Clifton Park Not So Common Players. Show starts at 8:00 p.m.

August 3 - The Accents. A premier party band that plays todays top songs and yesterday’s greatest hits.

August 10 - The Standard Clams.  Modern and classic rock tunes with a “jazzy twist”, with standards by such greats as Bobby Darin, Ray Charles, Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett (to name a few).

August 17 - Hey Jude.  This top flight, four/five piece rock and roll band plays high quality, exciting renditions of songs written or performed by The Beatles spanning their entire decade together. Show features authentic costumes and instruments.

Wednesday Evenings

Shows at 7:00 p.m.

July 23 - Seth and the Moody Melix.  Join the newest local children’s band for a fun and exciting multicultural musical experience designed not only to entertain, but to educate children!

July 30 - Catskill Puppet Theater. Performing “The Willow Girl” - a rod puppet show featuring a huge, gracefully animated Willow Tree and is a wonderful blend of humor, mystery, drama and magical effects. It is illustrated with original and traditional fiddle music.

August 6 - Farmer Tom “Life on the Farm”. Farmer Tom is so entertaining with incredibly funny songs and stories. His unique audience participation will inspire kids and grown-ups to join in the fun! The entire multitude will dance, groove, hop, see angels, clap, sing, and twirl.

August 13 - Let’s Get Cookin’.  A fun-filled performance that utilizes drama, music, complex rhythms, and acrobatics. Children, as well as their parents, will enjoy watching and participating along with our three chefs who cook up a fantastic time!

August 20 - The Zucchini Brothers.  Zany foot tapping music with “Words of Wisdom”. This band of brothers: Jack on Guitar, Steve on Keyboards, Sam on Drums (each his own character, all of whom sing) offers up a musical stir-fry of styles. You never know just what these three zany guys will do. But one thing’s for sure, once you’ve seen ‘em-you won’t forget ‘em.
