Plant A Tree for A Newborn Program
As part of its Arbor Day celebration, the Town of Clifton Park is pleased to announce its annual "Plant A Tree For The Newborn" Program. The Town offers a free tree seedling to all Clifton Park families whom have had a baby born or adopted between Arbor Day 2012 and Arbor Day 2013.
We would like to invite you to register your baby (or babies) in our "Plant a Tree for the Newborn" program. Simply complete the form and return it with a picture of the baby to the "Plant a Tree for the Newborn," Office of Parks, Recreation and Community Affairs, One Town Hall Plaza, Clifton Park, NY 12065. Deadline for registration is April 15, 2013 unless your child is born between April 16 and April 26, 2013.
The week after Arbor Day 2013, April 29 - May 3, parents can come to the Parks & Rec office and pick up a free seedling tree to be planted as a "birth tree" for the child on their property. Also during that week, the babies' pictures will be displayed at Town Hall.
If you have any Clifton Park friends with newborns, or new "forever families," we encourage you to tell them about the program.
The Community Tree Committee started this program several years ago and believes that a tree is a gift for the child to grow up with and thereby to develop an appreciation for nature and the conservation of wildlife. We hope that your child will watch its "birth tree" grow and will become a citizen who cares about the environment in the 21st Century.
