- First Friday ~ "Clifton Park's Waterfront: An Historical Perspective"
Date: 10/3/2008
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Fee: FREE
This program will be presented by Clifton Park Town Historian
John Scherer at the Historic Grooms Tavern. The town's southern
border is along the Mohawk River providing almost 13 miles of waterfront.
The northern borders of the town touch on Ballston Lake and Round Lake
and the Stoney Creek Reservoir is complete within the town. The presentation
will explore how residents used this transportation, industry
and recreation. Vintage photographs will highlight the importance
of the river and lakes to the history of Clifton Park. Co-Sponsored
by the Friends of Grooms Tavern.
- Basic Design Jewelry Class
Date: 10/17/2008 Time: 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 pm
Fee: $17
This is for ages 5 and up - students ages 5-8 must have a parent attend as well.
Students will learn the basics of making a bracelet and a pair of earrings. The instructor
will teach how to design and finish a bracelet and will demonstrate the loop and wrap
technique for earrings. All materials included. Students should bring a small
towel or bead board to class.
- First Friday ~ "Behind the Plastic" with Action Figure Sculptor Paul Harding
Date: 11/7/2008 Time: 7:00 p.m.
Fee: FREE
Join us for an exicting presentation and discussion by resident Paul Harding. Since
2001, Paul has been running a full-service Sculpture and Illustration shop focusing
on the creation of action-figured, statues and book covers. Pauls' current clients
include Hasbro, DC Direct, Marvel Toys and Little Brown Publishing. Characters
that he has worked on include The Hulk, Iron Man, Spider-man, Batman, X-Men,
Fantastic Four, Star Wars, Hellboy, Smallville, and many others. Door prizes.

- Adult-Child Charm Bracelets & Earrings Class
Date: 11/8/2008 Time: 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Fee: $25 per Adult/Child pair
This is for children 5 and up with an Adult. What a great way to spend
quality time together! Learn how to make a unique charm bracelet and earrings
with your favorite person. In this basic design class students will learn the
basics of making charms and how to design and finish a bracelet and loop earrings.
There will be a large variety of glass beads and charms to choose from. Bring your
doll or stuffed friend and make a bracelet for them free. Bring a small towel or
bead board to class.
- "Ladies Night Out"
Date: 11/21/2008 Time: 6:00 p.m.
Fee: FREE
Ladies, come pamper yourself and join us for an evening of candels, lotions,
housewares and more as local vendors once again have their house party at
Historic Grooms Tavern. There will be door prizes and refreshments.
- First Friday ~ Holiday Craft
Date: 12/5/2008 Time: 7:00 p.m.
Fee: FREE
Enjoying creating a variety of holiday gift tags which may be personalized
or used in your own scrapbooks. All materials will be provided. However,
you're welcome to bring your own supplies and be creative as you desire.
Creative Memories consultant Brenda Colton will be present.

- First Friday ~ Celebrations through the Years
Date: 1/2/2009 Time: 7:00 p.m.
Fee: FREE
A look at traditions and celebrations in Clifton Park and beyond. Led
by Town Historian, John Scherer.
- Parent/Child Build a Bear Tea
Date: 1/11/2009 Time: 2:00 p.m.
Fee: $10 per child
This is for ages 5 and up. Come spend a relaxing afternoon with your daughter
and build a bear. The Build a Bear Tea will be offered to Clifton Park residents.
Registration begins November 3, 2008.
- First Friday ~ Sirsy, unplugged acounstic music
Date: 2/6/2009 Time: 7:00 p.m.
Fee: FREE
Joing us for a special unplugged acoustic concert by Sirsy, with Melanie
Krahmer and Rich Libutti, featuring surprise special guests. Be the first to hear
never-before heard versions of their songs and stories behind the music. This
is a free show, but reservation are required for preferred seating.

- Webkinz Camp
Dates: Session I 2/17 - 2/20 Time: 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Dates: Session II 2/17 - 2/20 Time: 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Fee: $40
The Webkinz camp will be offered to Clifton Park children ages 5-12. Children
must be 5 by January 1, 2009.
Each participant of the Webkinz Camp will receive a new Webkina pet ready to
be adopted and adored. The camp will have games and arts & crafts activities
based on the popular toy and participants will learn about both the fun and
education aspects of Webkinz. Participants will enjoy a party on Friday to
celebrate the adoption of their new pet.
Registration begins January 2, 2009.
This camp is not affiliated with Ganz.
- First Friday ~ Second Annual Visual Talents Exhibit
Date: 3/6/2009 Time: 7:00p.m.
Fee: FREE
Come joing Town of Clifton Park Employees and their families as they showcase
their artistic abilities. Refreshments will be served.
- Parent/Child Build a Bird House
Date: 3/29/2009 Time: 2:00p.m.
Fee: $10 per child
This event is for ages 7 and up. Enjoy a Sunday afternoon building a bird
house and learn some bird facts. The Build a Bird House will be offered to
Clifton Park residents.
Registration begins January 2, 2009
