- First Friday - "Ghost Hunter"

Jeff House, a real life ghost hunter. He will talk of his experiences going after area ghosts and will check out the Grooms Tavern for any spirit activity. This will undoubtedly be a popular event and there will be limited seating. First come, first seated. Co-sponsored by Friends of Grooms Tavern during their Annual Meeting.

- First Friday - "Ladies Night Out"

Ladies, come pamper yourself and join us for an evening of candles, lotions, housewares and more as local vendors once again have their house party at Historic Grooms Tavern. Door prizes & refreshments will be served.

- First Friday - Singer/songwriter Rich Ortiz

Rich Ortiz had no choice but to become a musical performer. For the past ten years, Rich has been focusing all his talents and time on his acoustic solo act, playing guitar, harmonica, and pedal bass with his feet, and turning heads with his vocals! His music is best described as funk folk pop. Rich is a truly rare, authentic talent. Part of the Community Arts and Culture Commissions Fall Music Series.

- First Friday - Dredging Up the Past: Researching Clifton Park’s History

Clifton Park Town Historian, John Scherer, will give a presentation on some of the more interesting experiences he has encountered in researching the history of Clifton Park. Hear about some remarkable discoveries and the serendipitous manner in which they came to light.

- First Friday - Catch the Brass Ring: A New York State Carousel
Date: 3/2/12 Time: 7:00p.m.
Fee: FREE
New York State Museum Historian Emeritus and Clifton Park Historian John Scherer will give a presentation on the history of carousels, highlighting a 1914 carousel from Cuba Lake, Alleghany County, New York now at the New York State Museum. Learn how a medieval invention to train knights for jousting became a popular amusement park ride and is now considered an example of American folk art.
