also requires that the dog's license tag be firmly attached to the
dog's collar and be worn at all times. Failure to comply with these
laws could result in tickets being issued.

Frequently asked questions of the Clifton Park Animal Control
Officers:
Q. Does Clifton Park have a leash law?
A. Yes. The Town Board passed a Leash Law effective Oct. 30, 2008.
Dogs must remain on leash unless they are on private property or
in Mary Jane Roe Dog Park or Kinns Road Park. Dog owners that wish
to have their dogs off leash in either of the two parks must pay a
$30 annual fee. For information, call the Town Clerk at 371-6681.
Q. Why when we call animal control for a possible rabid animal
are we referred to Encon or law enforcement agencies?
A. Encon has instructed us when we receive calls on possible rabid
animals to refer the callers to Encon or law enforcement agencies.
The reason for this is if the animal has to be put down we do not
carry firearms and therefore could not eliminate the possible
threat.
