Shenendehowa PTA Council Preschool Committee
2009/2010 School Year
Goal:
We are dedicated to the education, health, safety, and cultural enrichment of
children 0-5 years of age and their families with the intention of preparing
the preschoolers to enter the Shenendehowa Central School District.
Meetings: Held on the 1st Monday of every other month at 7 pm in
the Acadia library on the Shen. Campus. (Exceptions: September will be on 9/14)
Meetings are open to all parents with preschool age children and younger and all
preschool teachers and daycare providers.
October 14th at 7PM. Mary Ellen Seitelman, Immediate Past President of
AGATE in NYS, will present “Gifted Education; What You Need to Know for Your
Preschooler.” Held in the Tesago Cafeteria. Free.
November 17th, 18th Children’s Program: “Robinson’s Animal Show.” Shows
are at 9:30 am and 1:00 pm each day. Children 2 and up are $4. Adults are free.
January 5th Our OPEN HOUSE for Preschools and Daycares from 6:30 – 8:00pm.
Snow date is January 7th. Held in the Tesago & Skano Cafeterias. Free.
January 12th, 13th Children’s Program: “David Grover and the Big Bear Band.”
Shows are at 9:30 am and 1:00 pm each day. Children 2 and up are $4. Adults are
free. Snow dates are January 19th and 20th.
February 10th at 7 pm, an Adult Program: a Kindergarten Readiness Panel
consisting of members of the Shenendehowa CSD. Snow date is February 11th.
Held in the Tesago & Skano Cafeterias. Free.
March 9th, 10th Children’s Program: Mrs. McPuppet. Shows are at 9:30 am
and 1:00 pm each day. Children 2 and up are $4. Adults are free. Snow dates
are March 16th and 17th.
March 23rd at 7pm, an Adult Program: Judy Kaiser, Preschool Director and
V.P. of Capital District Association for the Education of Young Children, will
present “Hands on Parenting with Science.” Held in the Tesago Cafeteria. Free.
Snow date is March 24th.
April 13th at 7pm, an Adult Program: Tammy Robinson, Managing Editor of
Skribblers Magazine, (a publication of children’s writings), will present “Before
the Pen: Using Imaginative Play to teach Literacy and Writing.” Held in the
Tesago Cafeteria. Free.
May 11th A Child ID Program. Drop in anytime; Time TBD. A children's
safety/identification service where parents will instantly receive a
comprehensive ID Card to carry with them. Free.
The three Children’s Shows and the Child ID Program will take place at the
Shenendehowa United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Route 146.
