Goal: We are dedicated to the education, health, safety, and cultural enrichment of children 0-5 years of age and their families with the intention of preparing the preschoolers to enter the Shenendehowa Central School District.

Meetings: Held on the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7 pm in the Acadia library on the Shen. Campus. (September will be on 9/10) Meetings are open to all parents with preschool age children and younger, and all preschool teachers and daycare providers.

Many participants of the preschool committee are parents, but area preschool directors and teachers also volunteer their time.

Started more than 25 years ago, the Preschool Committee provides programming geared to Shenendehowa Central School District families. Each year, we plan three children’s and three or more adult programs, as well as hold an Open House to highlight the area’s preschools and daycare facilities. Past events have included puppet shows, animals, singing groups, and lectures focused on discipline and Kindergarten Readiness.

In addition, we maintain a Preschool and Daycare Directory as well as a Community Directory which is a valuable resource of things to do in the area for people with small children.

Our Preschool & Daycare Directory (16 pages) gives much information about each of the licensed preschools & daycares in our area. This directory can be e-mailed to you for free upon request.

Our Community Directory now includes an expanded section on playgroups, storytimes, and other preschool-like activities. We charge $2 for the Directory to cover our printing costs.
