Welcome to the Town of Clifton Park

Clifton Park is a suburban town in Saratoga County, New York, United States. According to the United States Census Bureau, the 2010 population was 36,705.

The name is derived from an early land patent. The town is in the south part of the county and is located approximately 12 miles north of Albany, 7 miles northeast of Schenectady, and 10 miles south of Saratoga Springs. Recognized for our outstanding quality of life, smart growth practices, numerous parks, extensive recreation programs, a 15 mile trail network, the Clifton Common sports complex (host to a variety of national, state and regional tournaments), the excellent Shenendehowa School System, an active Shenendehowa Senior Community Center and emerging business centers, we are a model growth community. Clifton Park has preserved and restored significant historic sites, such as the Grooms Tavern, and has acquired, protected, preserved and purchased development rights on over 1000 acres, balancing our rural roots with innovative residential designs and twenty-first century economic development in New York’s Tech Valley. Clifton Park remains true to its motto: “Clifton Park – A Great Place to Live, Work and Play!”

Join Two Towns-One Book for an all ages hands-on science exploration featuring electricity and more. For more information on the event, please click on Science in the Library 2018

Two Towns-One Book is a program of the Friends of the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library with sponsorship funding from the Town of Clifton Park. Their goal is to bring people in the community together through the shared reading and discussion of a common book.

This event, which highlights the farms and agricultural areas in the Town, is held on a weekend in September TBA from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday & Sunday. Participating farms are open for tours and offer demonstrations, entertainment, and great food.

The Town brings professional entertainers to the outdoor stage at Clifton Common every Sunday night at 7:00 p.m. during the months of July and August. On Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. during the months of July and August there is children's entertainment; such as puppet shows, magic acts, clowns or music. Although there are a few bleachers, most guests bring lawn chairs and blankets to the free concerts. The musical is held at 8:00 pm at Clifton Common.

Bring your family, friends, and neighbors as we mark the birth of our nation in small-town America style! Clifton Park's July Fourth Celebration culminates with great entertainment and the Capital Region's largest locally sponsored fireworks display! Live music featuring: Danny Seraphine, Bill Champlin and the California Transit Authority and The Accents!

Arbor Day Celebration - As part of our Arbor Day celebration, the Town offers a free tree seedling to all Clifton Park families who have had a baby born between Arbor Day 2017 (April 28) and Arbor Day 2018 (April 27). Families can register with the Office of Parks, Recreation and Community Affairs located in Town Hall. Submit a photo with the registration form and all pictures will be displayed in Town Hall the week of April 30 - May 4. Deadline for registration is April 13, 2018.

The week of April 30, parents can come to Town Hall and pick up a free seedling tree to be planted on their property as a "birth tree" for the child. The hope is that these trees will grow up with the child and add to the child's appreciation of nature and the conservation of wildlife.
