Friends Honored with Proclamations

The Towns of Halfmoon and Clifton Park have honored the Friends of the Clifton Park - Halfmoon Public Library with special proclamations recognizing the hundreds of volunteer hours the FOL have contributed to our "community center for life-long learning."  

Thanks to all of our dedicated volunteers who work so diligently to support our outstanding "center for life-long learning!"  The proclamations are on display in the lobby of the library.

We Need a Volunteer

Mission:  The Get Out the Vote Chair shall coordinate the FOL Get Out the Vote Plan for the FOL organization and the Clifton Park – Halfmoon Public Library.

Duties of the Chairperson:

*  Annually, with the library Director and the President of the FOL, identify the Get Out the Vote Team charged to carry out the FOL Get Out the Vote Campaign.

•  Annually, with the library Director and planning team, review and modify the FOL Get Out the Vote Campaign.   

•  Collaborate with the FOL Board, the library Board of Trustees and the library staff to carry out the FOL Get out the Vote Campaign.   
•  Meet annually with the Get Out the Vote Team to generate ideas and activities to enhance the FOL Get Out the Vote Campaign.

•  Update at least quarterly, progress of the Get Out the Vote Campaign to all team members using e-mailing list.

•  Provide FOL Publicity Chair and Technology Chair information about the campaign that would assist them in creating press releases or website updates.

Friends of the Library Entertainment Book Fundraiser

Why pay full price for anything when you can SAVE BIG with the 2009 Entertainment® Book?  The 2009 Entertainment® Book is available at the Clifton Park - Halfmoon Public Library.  When you check out your books, simply ask to purchase the Entertainment® Book.  Proceeds go to support your library!

Membership Renewal Time

It's not too late to renew your Membership in the Friends of the Library. We also are happy to welcome new members to our organization. You may join by picking up a Membership Form on the Friends' table in the lobby of the library or on our table upstairs near the children's library.

The Friends of the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library is a not-for-profit organization composed entirely of volunteers who are engaged in a wide variety of services and programs. Our goals include providing informational, educational, cultural and recreational reading resources, services and programs for the people who live in our library district and fundraising to support certain library activities.

Used Book Sale Donation Guidelines

The Friends gladly accept donations of the following items in preparation for the Used Book Sales: gently used books in good condition; compact discs; computer software and games; records; sheet music; videocassettes and DVDs. Books with broken spines, missing pages or covers, or that are water damaged should be discarded. We are unable to sell such books. Also, please discard any books that have a mildewy odor. We are unable to use textbooks, encyclopedias, Reader's Digest Condensed Books or magazines. Please bring your donations to the Welcome Desk in the lobby of the library at 475 Moe Road, Clifton Park, NY 12065.

Ongoing Library Support

The Friends are continuing a sale of engraved pavers to enhance the walkways at the new Library. You may pick up a Pavers Order Form on the Friends' table in the lobby of the Library or our table on the second floor.  Return the filled-in form and your check to the Circulation Desk at the Library or return by mail addressed to:
