TO ALL PARENTS/GUARDIANS OF A KNOLLS SWIM CLUB SWIMMER/DIVER:
Attached you will find information regarding registration for the 2008 season. We are going to have returning registrations done again by mail this year. All registrations must be received by March 17, 2008 to either Cheryl Barbour (swimming registrations), or Donna Thompson (diving registrations) at the addresses listed below. Please feel free to contact any Board member if you have questions regarding this information. If your child does not plan to swim or dive for the Knolls Swim Team this season, please contact Cheryl Barbour, Swimming Registrar, at 383-3233 or e-mail her at sbarbou1@nycap.rr.com by March 17, 2008, or DonnaThompson, Diving Registrar, at 373-0779 or e-mail her at sun.nrun@yahoo.com , also by March 17, 2008.
Any current swimmers or divers not registered by March 17, 2008 will lose their spot on the team to swimmers or divers on the waiting list.

REGISTRATION:
Please download the registration forms from our website: cliftonpark.org/knollsswimclub . Complete and return the registration forms no later than March 17, 2008. Please check to be sure you are returning the following forms for each swimmer/diver:

USS AND AAU REGISTRATION:
United States Swimming (USS) and Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), will again be used as our team insurers. Summer season memberships extend from April 2 through August 31, 2008. Any swimmer currently registered with USS as a full year member need not fill out an additional form. Swimmers and divers with USS and AAU full year memberships must list their current registration number and expiration date on their Knolls registration form. *Any swimmer previously USS registered, but not registered with a club for 2007 must complete a transfer form which can be found at the Adirondack Website (adirondackswimming.org). PARENT/GUARDIAN INFORMATIONAL MEETING:
There will be a mandatory informational meeting for parents only on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. in Hatlee Hall at St. George’s Episcopal Church on Route 146. This meeting is designed to distribute the meet schedule for 2008, introduce the coaches, order and pay for sportswear, and answer any questions you may have about the upcoming season. You will be asked to sign up for job responsibilities at swim meets, so please remember to bring your calendars.
PRACTICE SCHEDULE:
The first practice will begin on Monday, June 2 at 5:00 p.m. at the Barney Road Pool. Practice will be held daily and it is expected that all swimmers and divers attend. To be eligible to compete in a dual meet, a swimmer or diver must attend at least two practices during the week of the meet. Team members should attend as many practices as possible to help improve their skills and times.

FAMILY RESPONSIBILITY:
In order for the swim meets to run smoothly, volunteers are needed for various jobs during the meets. At the parent/guardian meeting in May, you will be asked to sign up to work at various meets. All swimmer and/or diver families will be expected to work two entire meets. KEEP IN MIND WHEN SIGNING UP TO WORK A PARTICULAR JOB AT A MEET THAT YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO FULFILL THAT OBLIGATION. IF YOU DO NOT WORK THE MEET, YOU SIGNED UP FOR, YOU WILL BE FINED A $25.00 FEE AND THE SWIMMER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PRACTICE OR SWIM WITH THE TEAM UNTIL THIS IS PAID. Once the 2008 meet schedule is made up, it will be the responsibility of the volunteer to find a substitute if they are unable to work their assigned shift. In order for the meets to run efficiently, those people assigned to do a job must report to the meet manager at the start of the meet and work their assigned shift. A separate work schedule will be formulated for Swimming and Diving Championships. If your child participates, you will be expected to help.
SWIMWEAR and SPORTSWEAR:
This is the second year of our two-year suit. Parents can order swimsuits online at www.thedeependonline.com. The process is simple:
1) Go to thedeependonline.com Click on Teams.

3) You are now in our team’s locker room where you can purchase our suits and other items at a discount. You will need a credit card to finalize you purchase.
4) To receive free shipping you must identify your order as –
Pickup at Henrietta AND order by June 1st.
Your order will then be shipped as a bulk order to Christy McCarroll
Swimsuit orders must be placed between April 1 - June 1 to ensure delivery before the first meet. All other apparel will be available for ordering at the parents meeting on May 20. Sportswear orders must be submitted to Christy McCarroll (373-9749, 6 Cheviot Court, Clifton Park) no later than May 23, 2008. Checks should be made out to the Knolls Swim Club. Latex and Silicone caps will be available for purchase at the parent meeting and also throughout the season.
SWIM/DIVE TEAM FEES:
The registration fees for the 2008 season are listed. The USS and AAU registration fees are $34 and $14 respectively. If you are not a full year registered USS swimmer/AAU diver, you need to pay the USS/AAU fee. All fees must be collected by the parents meeting. All USS/AAU memberships will be validated at the parents meeting. If your child decides to leave the team after registering, a 25% penalty will be imposed. If your child leaves the team after the first two weeks of practice, the registration fee will not be refunded. In addition, fees for insurance(USS or AAU), sportswear, and swimsuits cannot be refunded.

Each swimmer/diver must pay a full swim team and full dive team fee. For families with both swimmers and divers, the first child in each category must pay the full $110.00.
