TO ALL PARENTS/GUARDIANS OF A KNOLLS SWIM CLUB SWIMMER/DIVER:
Attached you will find information regarding registration for the 2012 season. We are going to have returning registrations done again by mail this year. All registrations and payments must be received by March 19,2012 to either Jill Dougherty (swimming registrations), or Amy Salzone (diving registrations) at the addresses listed below. Please feel free to contact any Board member if you have questions regarding this information. If your child does not plan to swim or dive for the Knolls Swim Team this season, please contact Jill Dougherty, Swimming Registrar, at 664-4151 or e-mail her at swimmers4@nycap.rr.com by March 19, 2012 or Amy Salzone, Diving Registrar, at 383-2852 or e-mail her at amy.salzone@gmail.com , also by March 19, 2012.
Any current swimmers or divers not registered and fees paid by March 19, 2012 will lose their spot on the team to swimmers or divers on the waiting list.
 
Key Dates for the 2012 Season:

                 May 16 – All Apparel orders due to Andrea Zahnleuter (you can return these to her at the Parent’s Information Meeting)
       June 4 -  Evening practice begins (tentative date)
         June 25 – Morning practice begins (tentative date)
         July 31- Banquet
         August 2-4- Suburban League Championships
 
REGISTRATION:
Please download the registration forms from our website: cliftonpark.org/knollsswimclub. Complete and return the registration forms with payment no later than March 19, 2012. Please check to be sure you are returning the following forms for each swimmer/diver:
•         Team Registration Form
•         Medical Release Form
         Copy of AAU Card for year round divers
 
USS AND AAU REGISTRATION:
United States Swimming (USS) and Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), will again be used as our team insurers. Summer season memberships extend from April 1 through August 28, 2012. Any swimmer currently registered with USS as a full year member need not fill out an additional form. Swimmers and divers with USS and AAU full year memberships must list their current registration number and expiration date on their Knolls registration form. *Any swimmer previously USS registered, but not registered with a club for 2012 must complete a transfer form which can be found at the Adirondack Website (adirondackswimming.org). Any questions regarding this, please call Jill Dougherty at 664-4151.
 
PARENT/GUARDIAN INFORMATIONAL MEETING:
There will be a mandatory informational meeting for parents only on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall at Christ Community Reform Church, 1010 Route 146. This meeting is designed to distribute the meet schedule for 2012, introduce the coaches, order and pay for sportswear, and answer any questions you may have about the upcoming season. You will be asked to sign up for job responsibilities at swim meets, so please remember to bring your calendars.
 
PRACTICE SCHEDULE:
The first practice will begin on Mon., June 4 at 5:00 p.m. at the Barney Road Pool. Practice will be held daily and it is expected that all swimmers and divers attend. To be eligible to compete in a dual meet, a swimmer or diver must attend at least two practices during the week of the meet. Team members should attend as many practices as possible to help improve their skills and times.

FAMILY RESPONSIBILITY:
In order for the swim meets to run smoothly, volunteers are needed for various jobs during the meets. At the parent/guardian meeting in May, you will be asked to sign up to work at various meets. All swimmer and/or diver families will be expected to work two entire meets. KEEP IN MIND WHEN SIGNING UP TO WORK A PARTICULAR JOB AT A MEET THAT YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO FULFILL THAT OBLIGATION. IF YOU DO NOT WORK THE MEET, YOU SIGNED UP FOR, YOU WILL BE FINED A $25.00 FEE AND THE SWIMMER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PRACTICE OR SWIM WITH THE TEAM UNTIL THIS IS PAID. Once the 2012 meet schedule is made up, it will be the responsibility of the volunteer to find a substitute if they are unable to work their assigned shift. In order for the meets to run efficiently, those people assigned to do a job must report to the meet manager at the start of the meet and work their assigned shift. A separate work schedule will be formulated for Swimming and Diving Championships. If your child participates, you will be expected to help.
 
SWIMWEAR and SPORTSWEAR:
 Parents can order swimsuits online at www.thedeependonline.com. The process is simple:
1)         Go to thedeependonline.com Click on Teams.
2)         Type in Username- Knolls
                  Password- ksc333
3)         You are now in our team’s locker room where you can purchase our suits and other    
            items at a discount. You will need a credit card to finalize your purchase.
4)         To receive free shipping you must identify your order as –
                             “COMPLETE TEAM ORDER” AND order by June 1st.
5)        Please include your email address in the appropriate box to receive a confirmation of your order.
Your order will then be shipped as a bulk order to Andrea Zahnleuter.
Swimsuit orders must be placed between April 15-June 1 to ensure delivery before the first meet. All other apparel will be available for ordering at the parents meeting on May 16. Sportswear orders must be submitted to Andrea Zahnleuter (383-4080, 3 Frank Street, Rexford, NY 12148) no later than May 16, 2012. Checks should be made out to the Knolls Swim Club. Latex and Silicone caps will be available for purchase at the parent meeting and also throughout the season.
 
SWIM/DIVE TEAM FEES:
The registration fees for the 2012 season are listed. The USS and AAU registration fees are $39 and $14 respectively. If you are not a full year registered USS swimmer/AAU diver, you need to pay the USS/AAU fee. All fees must be collected by the parents meeting. All USS/AAU memberships will be validated at the parents meeting. If your child decides to leave the team after registering, the swimming or diving registrar must be notified. After the first two weeks of practice (June 18, 2012) the treasurer will issue a refund of the registration fee less a 25% penalty. If your child leaves the team after the first two weeks of practice (June 18, 2012), the registration fee will not be refunded. In addition, fees for insurance (USS or AAU), sportswear, and swimsuits cannot be refunded.

Multiple swimmers per family are given a discount according to the above chart.
Each swimmer/diver must pay a first participant fee and second participant fee. Any questions regarding the fee schedule for multiple swimmer/diver families should be addressed to Jill Dougherty. Please make all checks payable to the Knolls Swim Club.
