This year the Duathlon will combine a 2.2 mile run;
16 mile bike; and a 2.2 mile run to the finish along the scenic route of the
Mohawk Towpath Byway, one of America's Byways®
. Start, bike exchange, finish and awards will all be at Krause's
Grove at the historic Halfmoon Beach. Entry fee $20 before 5 pm
October, 10, 2008, $25 after including day of race.
October 19 – Race Day Schedule

7:30-8:30am – Registration and Race Packet
Pickup at Krause's.

7:30-8:30am – Stage bicycles, helmets, etc.
at Staging area in parking lot.

9:00am – Start of Race.

11:00am - Fun duathlon for youth under 14
($5 entry fee including tee shirt).

11:15am – Awards Ceremony and bib drawing for prizes.
Chip
Timing will be by Finish Right Timing. First, second,
and third place finish in each age group and first place
team will receive prestigious new custom cast Mohawk Towpath
Byway medals made in the USA.
Proceeds from this event benefit the Mohawk Towpath Scenic Byway Coalition, Inc. a 501©(3) not-for-profit corporation that seeks to increase awareness, enjoyment and linkage of the wide variety of scenic, recreational and historic resources along the Mohawk River and Erie Barge Canal corridor from Waterford to Schenectady. The
Byway is a regional partnership of communities that balance the promotion of local interests with the protection of heritage resources.
