Store and P.O. Elnora, ca. 1910
Store and post office, Elnora, c. 1910. This store was known as Jump and Petersens throughout the 1930s, ‘40s, and ‘50s. Richard Jump started the business, and later took in Nelsen Petersen, who married Jump’s daughter Lena. Richard Jump, and later Lena Petersen, served as postmasters. After the grocery business ceased, the postal functions were moved to the front of the store. Until the new Clifton Park Post Office was established in January 1976, many people in Clifton Park had an Elnora address.
