Groom’s Tavern/Grooms Corners, ca 1910
Grooms Tavern, Grooms Corners, c.1910. Built by Samuel Groom in about 1820, this tavern was the site of Clifton Park’s first town board meeting in 1828. During the early years, the town board would meet at various taverns in town. In the twentieth century (c.1918 to the early 1960s) the Klingbiel family operated a store in this building. There was a billiard parlor in the rear.
