Bus Trip to Hyde Park & Culinary Institute May 17

Description: The Friends of the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Library are sponsoring a bus trip to Hyde Park and the Culinary Institute of America on Sat, May 17, for a tour of the newly designed Franklin Roosevelt Library and Home and a gourmet lunch at the Culinary Institute. Weather permitting, an optional walk on the Walkway Across the Hudson. Price of $90 pp with $5 pp discount to Friends' members includes transportation, admissions, tour of the home and lunch. Bus departs Library at 8:30am and return time is TBA, but will depart no later than 5pm. Contact Rhona at or call 518-505-1303.

Description: LEGO builders in grades 3-5 and Junior LEGO builders in grades K-2 are challenged to a completion. Participants are invited to the Clifton Park-Halfmoon Public Library on Thursday, April 17 from 1:30-3 pm for a LEGO Club Competition. Each one or two-person team will be given a set number of LEGOs to work with and some general guidelines to follow. Participants will have an opportunity to vote for their favorites. Creations will be photographed for display on the Library’s Flickr web pages. Registration is required beginning April 10 at 9:30am. If you have any questions, please contact the Library at 371-8622.
Celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day

Description: Get ready for Arbor Day by coming to hear expert Certified Arborist Fred Breglia. He's back by popular demand and co-sponsored by the Country Garden Club of Clifton Park and the Friends of the Clifton-Park Halfmoon Library on Tuesday, April 22 at 6pm. Fred Breglia is the Director of the George Landis Arboretum in Esperance, N.Y. and an Internationally Certified Arborist with over 25 years of experience in the green industry. He will present a show and tell program of the most effective pruning and mulching techniques for your yard and garden in the Program Rooms of the Library. Please bring questions! Learn why most of the tree pruning and mulching seen around our towns is not being done in the best interest of the health of our trees and shrubs. Weather permitting, this will also include a hands-on demonstration in the Reading Garden.
