The Arthritis Foundation of Northeastern New York in partnership with Empire Broadcasting Corporation Media Stations, 101.3 The Jockey and WABY, CBS 6, Hannaford Supermarkets and Genentech is pleased to announce the 3rd Annual Arthritis EXPO, scheduled for Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 10 am – 3 pm at the Century House in Latham. The Arthritis EXPO is a hands-on, interactive showcase of businesses, tools and programs that can assist the estimated 300,000 people in the Capital District who live with the daily struggles of arthritis. Open to the public, we expect individuals and families from young too old to attend. Speakers and demonstrations will round out the day as we provide an uplifting approach to dealing with arthritis. A dedicated website has been created for individuals to go on and pre-register for the event. The site address is www.arthritisexpo.kintera.org or anyone can like the chapter’s Facebook Page at www.facebook.com/AFNENY. Those who like the page between now and Friday, March 8th will receive $1 off the admission ticket. There will be an entry fee of $5 per person or $8 per couple to the “Arthritis Expo”. Children, 12 years of age or younger are free.

Last year, the sold out event attracted over hundreds of people looking for traditional to alternative ways on how to treat the debilitating disease. Local businesses have an opportunity to reserve a space at the Arthritis Expo to display their products and services. Arthritis impacts all aspects of one’s life, from medically, socially, emotionally and economically. Space is limited so this is a first come, first serve basis. Cost for a booth is $350 for a for-profit business and $150 for a non-for-profit.
“Your business has an opportunity to address arthritis in a different way, whether it is a new exercise program, financial planning for future medical needs or a recreational outlet or hobby to participate in.” stated Eileen Reardon, Executive Director of the Arthritis Foundation of Northeastern New York Chapter. The mission of the Arthritis Foundation is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases. “The national cost to deal with arthritis of over 200 billion dollars annually demonstrates the need for an expo of this kind. We feel that with our partnership with The Empire Broadcasting Corporation, this Expo will be a major success.” concluded Reardon.
